The Who, What, and Why of gravel in the Southeast
Officially started in 2019, but in development since 2010 when Ben and Boyd first became teammates on the same road cycling team.
Southeast Gravel is the work of two roadies who over time grew to love exploration into the unknown and the community aspect of gravel riding and racing.
Former profession rider, national champion, and current coach for Red Rocket Racing. Enjoys helping developing riders and all aspects of cycling.
Spends more time riding wheelies than Peter Sagan and hasn't found a "Road Closed" pile of dirt that he can't ride over.
Founder of Boyd Cycling, one of the premiere wheel companies in the world. Has been riding gravel since before it was cool; on a road bike with 22mm tubular tires.
Creator of infamous "Boyd Rides" where you are likely to end up riding through Dead Ends, walking in the woods, and almost always trespassing.
Boyd's birthday ride
Every year in mid June
Hotel Domestique north of Greenville, SC
Every year since 2012 Boyd celebrates his birthday by inviting a bunch of his closest friends and trying to kill them.
The ride features a great combination of paved road, dirt roads, elevation, and bears over the 73 mile distance. It's a true test of a rider's fitness, skill, and equipment.
The birthday ride became the inspiration for making a series of events throughout the Southeast that provide the challenge that commands a sense of accomplishment when completed. Some will race, some will ride, all will enjoy the courses we have scoped out.

Hot Springs Gravel Gauntlet
Hot Springs, NC
Cancelled for 2020!
Unfortunately due to the Covid-19 virus, we are having to cancel the Hot Springs Gravel Gauntlet for 2020. With a massive amount of events being rescheduled for the late summer and fall of 2020 we thought it best to cancel the event instead of competing with another event in a very crowded fall schedule.
We will be back, and better, in 2021
We have the course info and descriptions still up (click more info below). We encourage people to go check out the area, but please ride safe and responsibly!
